unfettered access to the White House and Lincoln Memorial
to stage a private, for-profit sports event.

JUNE 14—Flag Day
Support the republic for which the flag stands. . .
Where power flows from the people,
Where leaders are accountable to the Constitution.

The every-Sunday protest in Benicia will gather as usual on this Sunday June 14 at noon. We will be observing it as a No Kings event, with special significance on Flag Day and in opposition to Trump’s disgusting observance of his 80th birthday. EVERYONE please come to Benicia City Park at noon. Bring a flag if you can, & also your signs, noisemakers, and goodwill. We’ll show up, stand strong, and let the world know – the US will never put up with a King! [map / directions]

No doubt you have been overwhelmed with political information and hounded by organizations and individuals for money. Here’s a way to support your beliefs and show your disgust at the current political situation for free!

Join us every Thursday evening from 5-6 – Rally for Democracy at the Benicia Gazebo, First St. and Military Ave. Bring your friends and a poster if you have one. We have lots to lend if you don’t. And bring noisemakers, whistles or horns. It feels great to support democracy, meet some new friends, and leave your computers and phones at home! See you there!

Come whenever you can, stay as long or as briefly as you can. Bring your signs, bells, kazoos, noisemakers. Invite ten people to join us.

Stay on the sidewalk. Don’t block anyone attempting to walk through. Ignore any harassment.

I’m used to counting crowds in the hundreds, and I’m pretty good at that. I’m not much good at counting bodies in the thousands, so don’t quote me on this. But I think there were well over 2000 protesters on the banks and sidewalks around Benicia’s Gazebo.

I thought the early 9am hour might be a problem here, and we’d see fewer Benicia protesters than last June or October. But no! The movement in Benicia is growing. We’re part of a massive uprising nationwide, who will not stand by while Trump and his crowd try to destroy our successful experiment in democracy.

Here’s one of my favorite signs. True.

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
